About

' What I remember most, when everything felt dark, was hope. Mark was there for me, he listened and he helped me feel hope for the first time in what felt like forever'

Carl Rogers believed that within in each of us lies an insatiable ability to move towards growth, to live a rich and fulfilling life.

I believe that no matter our past, or current environment, we have within us, the ability to forge a path towards a satisfying and rewarding life.

It has become a personal purpose to support others on their journey, to help them find hope when it seems it has deserted them. To discover the inner resilience that allows them to make the often difficult changes that will allow them to experience hope and the freedom of choice.

Trained in Person centred Theory as well as CBT and Transactional Analysis, I am able to use an integrative approach to support you find your own, very unique path towards peace. Working together in a safe, non-judgmental and empathetic environment we can gain clarity on any aspects of your life you feel are holding you back.

Treatment

Some of the common challenges I can help with

Anxiety

I am trained and experienced in offering support to those struggling with anxiety. Whether this is situational due to recent changes in your life, of general anxiety experienced over a long period of time, I offer a safe environment to explore the thoughts and feelings that had arisen, allowing the root causes to be discovered. We can work together to find the right strategies for you to help you in the short and long term challenges.

Depression

Whether this is something that you have experienced only recently, or over an extended period of time, my Person Centred training and approach may enable you to uncover those feelings and thoughts that can sometimes hold you back, or weigh you down.  Using the techniques of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, we can look to employee strategies to overcome short term challenges, as well as build beneficial, long term behavioural change.

Relationships

Many would say that life feels less plentiful without meaningful and loving relationships. Whether its family, friendship, partnership or even professional relations, we can work together to build your self awareness and a sense of self. Using my experience in Transactional Analysis, we can explore the roles within relationships, look into how they impact you, and develop ways to create a supportive network that enables you to thrive.

Stress

Stress can be caused by many situations, some within our control and some completely beyond it. As an integrative therapist, I have the ability to offer CBT techniques to help you manage short term challenges, Person Centred theory to help uncover any behavioural patterns that may lead to self sabotage induced stressors, and Transactional Analysis to develop supportive and meaningful relationships while also managing unhelpful ones. By working together, we can find a blend of these approaches that will help you minimise short term stress, and build a frame work to prevent or manage long term issues.

Bereavement and Loss

Grief plays a major role in all aspects of life, but we often only consider this process when someone dear to us is lost. Reality is, it can be as well the loss of a job and corresponding thoughts of a career. A cherished family heirloom, pets, health, or ability to complete tasks and show skills. Processing the associated feelings and emotions of these, any many similar situations, can often be difficult and confusing.

My integrative approach can support you through this process by offering an environment where you can feel safe to explore the deep, associated emotions, and begin healing. We can help you devise coping strategies to manage the immediate impact of the changes and complexities that can arise, when the world as you experienced changes abrutly.

Stuck or Lost

Sometimes it not that simple to describe how we feel or what is happening.  Sometimes we just feel like we are drifting through the world, catching one current here, and, despite wanting to have more control, we never quite manage it. Sometimes we look back at our life so far and wonder how we got here and where do we go next. Sometimes we feel like there is something else inside us, that we were meant to do, a passion we should follow but we can't quite work out what it is.

Life is busy and demands so much of our time that its not surprising that we can sometimes get lost in the day to day challenges of surviving in our modern 24/7 world. I can offer the space and time for you to reflect on your history, delve into your thoughts and feelings, explore your true sense, and help to enlighten your path through life, perhaps giving your the tools and confidence to create different options and take the next step.
